The Binghamton University Volleyball team fell to Bryant Saturday afternoon to close out the Black Knights Invitational. The Bearcats lost in straight sets, 25-12, 25-23, 26-24.
Francela Ulate and Victoria
Keghlian paced the team with eight and seven kills respectively.
Keghlian was strong up front, recording a .429 hitting percentage.
Kiara Adams led with 17 assists and
Audrey Haworth registered double digit digs with 10.
The Bulldogs were able to get off to a strong start, creating a solid lead early and not looking back in the first set. Attack errors by the Bulldogs brought the deficit to five twice, but that was as close as the Bearcats would get in the opening frame.Â
The next two sets went back and forth and came down to the final points to decide the winner. In the second set, Binghamton changed a two point deficit into a two point lead late, but Bryant rattled off five of the final six points to take a commanding lead in the match.
The final frame was similar to the former, until Bryant tried to pull away late in the set. The Bearcats made a final push, scoring three straight points to tie it up at 24 before the Bulldogs scored two straight to come out victorious.
Binghamton heads to Washington D.C. after nearly a week away from game action to play in the Georgetown Invitational next Friday. First matchup is with Florida International at 10 a.m.
