Men's Lacrosse Defeated by No. 5 Syracuse

Sophomore Teddy Dolan with career-high 18 saves, Bearcats fall 17-4

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Binghamton men's lacrosse team (0-2) fell 17-4 to No. 5 Syracuse (2-0) Saturday afternoon at the Carrier Dome. Sophomore goalie Teddy Dolan, currently ranked fifth in the country in saves per game (17.0) made 18 saves in the net, while the Bearcats saw goals from Jackson Reiger, Daniel Mackinney and Justin Roderka.

"We didn't have the ball enough to win the game today," head coach Kevin McKeown said. "I thought we took a step forward in some areas from last week. Teddy Dolan again played terrific between the pipes. We're looking forward to getting back to defend our home turf for the first time next Saturday".

The Orange went up early fast, as they scored four straight to start the game. Jackson Reiger scored Binghamton's first goal of the game off a feed from William-Talbott Shere with 4:14 left in the first quarter. Daniel MacKinney netted the Bearcats second goal shortly after to close out the scoring in the period. The Orange scored four straight in the second quarter to take a 8-2 lead into halftime.

Binghamton and Syracuse traded goals to start the first half, as Justin Roderka scored his first of the game and second of the season. The Orange went on to score three consecutive times to close out the third quarter, leading 12-3.

Roderka scored his second of the game three minutes into the fourth quarter, but the Orange closed out the game with four straight goals.

The Orange outshot the Bearcats 50-31 in the game, winning 21 of 25 faceoffs.

Binghamton returns to Vestal for it's home opener on Sat. Feb. 22 against Lafayette at 12 p.m. at the Bearcats Sports Complex.
