VESTAL, N.Y. – The Binghamton University women's lacrosse team will head to the Hudson Valley to take on Marist College Saturday afternoon. The Bearcats (1-3) are coming off a strong defensive effort in a 9-7 victory over Lafayette and will look to hand the Red Foxes (0-4) their fifth straight loss.

Notes
- The Bearcats' defense led the way in Wednesday's victory over the Leopards, as they caused 16 turnovers and went the final 23 minutes without relinquishing a goal.
- Paige Alletzhauser (two caused turnovers) and Alexa Franze (three ground balls, one caused turnover) helped spearhead the back while Taylor Passuello contributed eight saves.
- Offensively, Paige Volkmann stuffed the stat sheet, tallying three goals (second hat-trick this season), an assist, four ground balls and three caused turnovers.
- Alyssa Sanchez added a goal and an assist, as well as four draw controls, and Sidra Morchower netted her first finish en route to a three-point evening. Sofia Afkham, Isabella Meli and Rebecca Korn were the other goal scorers for Binghamton.
- This was the team's second straight game allowing under ten goals.
A look at Marist
- The Red Foxes have started the season at 0-4, and are coming off a 17-7 defeat at the hands of Rutgers.
- Marist finished 2019 with a 9-10 overall record and 4-4 in the MAAC.
- Samantha Mehalik leads Marist with 10 goals thus far, adding two against the Scarlet Knights. She also leads the team with 15 draw controls.
- Last season, Mehalik carried the Red Foxes with 79 goals, including an 11-goal game against Manhattan.
- Saturday's matchup against the Bearcats is Marist's first of three straight games against the America East. They will play UMass Lowell on March 10 and Vermont on March 15.
