Women's lacrosse to take on Quinnipiac on the road

Saturday's matchup to start at 1 p.m. (previously scheduled for noon)

VESTAL, N.Y. – The Binghamton University women's lacrosse team heads to Hamden, Conn. For a non-conference tilt with Quinnipiac Saturday afternoon. The 1 p.m. matchup (previously scheduled to begin at noon), will be the team's third straight game against a MAAC opponent.

Notes
  • The Bearcats are coming off a tough loss at home to Niagara, in which the team surrendered five of the game's final six goals in the 12-10 defeat.
  • Junior Paige Volkmann is coming off a strong performance against Niagara, where she put away four goals. She continues to lead the team in goals (13), assists (4) and points (17) this season.
  • Freshman Jamie Golderman has gotten comfortable in the Bearcats' offensive system, as she tripled her season point total against the Purple Eagles, registering two goals and two assists.
  • Midfielder Alyssa Sanchez has been a do-it-all type player all season for Binghamton, and she had eight draw controls against Niagara as well as three ground balls and a goal.
  • Amelia Biancardi made her much anticipated return to the lineup and added two goals, an assist and four draw controls.
Scouting Quinnipiac
  • The Bobcats are fresh off a win over America East foe Hartford, and sit at 2-3 on the year.
  • The Bobcats are led by senior attack Megan Szawlowski who leads the team in goals with 14. 
  • Szawlowski has scored two or more goals in every matchup this season, her season high coming against LIU, where she netted five goals.
  • Another notable player for the Bobcats is senior goalie Allie Kelsey who has already topped her career high in saves this season in 15 saves. Kelsey has 60 saves throughout the first five games of the season. 
Matchup history
  • The Bobcats lead the all-time series 6-3 between the two teams. 
  • Although down in the series, the Bearcats have taken the last three games with the most recent one being a 13-7 victory in 2016.
