VESTAL, N.Y. - The Binghamton volleyball team won the opening set against Hartford Sunday afternoon, but relinquished three straight in a 3-1 loss to the Hawks. In the 26-24, 20-25, 21-25, 16-25 defeat, Kiara Adams had a career-high 24 digs.

The first set opened in favor of BU, as the team took an early 15-7 lead. The visitors would rally back, eventually tying the set at 24, before Binghamton went on to score two straight points, capped by a kill from Stan, to take the frame.

The Hawks led the second set from the start, despite Binghamton making a late run to tighten it up. After trailing 15-6, the Bearcats cut it to as close as 21-19 before Hartford scored four of the set's final five points.

The third set went back-and-forth, as Binghamton led as late as 19-18. Following a Hartford timeout, the Hawks went on a critical 5-0 to take a 23-19 lead. Four points later, the visitors took a 2-1 lead.

In the fourth set, BU had an early 8-5 lead, but the Hawks rallied to take the set 25-16, sparked by an 8-2 run.
