Men’s Soccer Heads to UMBC

STORY LINES
 
- Ranked fifth in the United Soccer Coaches (USC) Northeast Region Poll, Binghamton (7-3-1, 2-1-0 AE) lost 4-1 to New Hampshire on Saturday night before a Homecoming crowd of 1,356 fans at the Bearcats Sports Complex. Junior forward Oliver Svalander scored his fourth goal of the season while graduate student midfielder Noah Luescher tallied his second assist in as many matches.

- Junior forward Ethan Homler continues to lead the Bearcats with five goals and 11 total points. Svalander is second (four goals, eight total points) while Luescher has two goals and a team-best three assists so far this season.

- Homler is tied for fifth in the America East with .500 goals per game and is eighth with 1.10 total points per game. He is also first with .400 game-winning goals per game. Redshirt junior goalkeeper P.J. Parker, meanwhile, is third with a 0.95 goals against average and a .739 save percentage.

- UMBC (6-6-1, 1-3-0) was defeated 3-1 by Stony Brook on Saturday night in its Homecoming Game. Jago Lott netted the goal for the Retrievers.

- Taylor Calheira of the Retrievers leads the America East with nine goals and .692 goals per game. He also ranks second with 21 points and 1.62 points per game.

- Binghamton leads the all-time series against UMBC 10-7-4, having taken the past two meetings. Most recently, the Bearcats won 2-0 at home on March 19, 2021. Luescher scored one of the two Bearcat goals.

- Luescher now has 15 assists during his career, which is the second-highest total during Binghamton's 21-year NCAA Division I era. In addition, Luescher's 49 total points also ranks second during the program's NCAA Division I history.
