Men’s Soccer Heads to NJIT

Bearcats and Highlanders square off Tuesday at 3:30 p.m.

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (2-1-0, 2-1-0 AE) defeated UMBC on Friday afternoon. Senior midfielder Noah Luescher and freshman midfielder Cooper Sayles netted the Bearcat goals in the victory. Sophomore goalkeeper P.J. Parker, meanwhile, made a pair of saves from close range to record the solo shutout.

- Luescher is ranked first in the America East and third in the nation with 1.33 goals per game. He also leads the conference and is fourth in the NCAA Division I statistics with 2.67 total points per game. As a team, the Bearcats are tied for second in the conference – and tied at No. 25 in the nation - with 2.00 goals per game.

- NJIT (1-3-1, 1-2-0 AE) lost 2-1 at Vermont on Friday. Jose Adames scored the Highlanders' goal in the 65th minute.

- Regsan Watkins leads NJIT with a pair of goals so far this season. In the current America East statistics, he is averaging a conference-best 4.00 shots per game and 1.60 shots on goal per game. The Highlanders as a team are fourth in the America East with 1.40 goals per game.

- This marks the first-ever meeting between Binghamton and NJIT in men's soccer. The Highlanders joined the America East this past summer.

- Luescher has scored goals in each of the past three matches. The last Binghamton player to score goals in four straight matches was Jake Keegan in 2011.
