Men's Soccer Heads to UMass Lowell

Bearcats and River Hawks square off Saturday at 7 p.m.

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (6-2-0, 1-0-0 AE) is currently ranked sixth in the United Soccer Coaches (USC) Northeast Region Poll. In addition, the Bearcats are off to their best start since 2007, when they were also 6-2-0.

- Most recently, the Bearcats defeated Stony Brook 1-0 on Saturday before a Family Weekend crowd of 2,605 fans. Junior forward Oliver Svalander netted the game winner in the 56th minute and redshirt junior goalkeeper P.J. Parker made a pair of saves to record his second straight solo shutout.

- Junior forward Ethan Homler continues to lead the Bearcats with four goals and nine total points. Svalander is second with three goals while graduate student midfielder Noah Luescher and redshirt sophomore forward Rory Anderson have each scored twice.

- UMass Lowell (2-6-1, 1-1-0 AE) beat UMBC 2-1 at home last Saturday. Matthew Stingl scored the game winner on a penalty kick in the 44th minute. The River Hawks' other America East match was a 2-1 setback at NJIT on Sept. 18.

- Borna Miklic leads the River Hawks with four goals and eight total points so far this season. He has four of the seven River Hawk goals so far this year.

- UMass Lowell leads the all-time series against Binghamton 5-1-1, having swept the past three meetings. Most recently, the River Hawks won 1-0 at the Bearcats Sports Complex on Oct. 5, 2019. The lone Bearcat win in the series was a 3-0 win on Oct. 12, 2013 in their annual Homecoming Game.
