VESTAL, N.Y. – The Binghamton swimming & diving teams took part in their second meet in as many days, holding their Senior Day Meet against Cornell on Sunday afternoon at the Saunders Aquatic Center. The Big Red swept the team results by recording a 145-94 victory on the women's side as well as a 153-90 triumph in the men's team scoring.

"Being able to have two meets this weekend and swim tired is real good preparation for the conference meet in two weeks," head coach Jerry Cummiskey. "We will be competing four straight days and need to take care of ourselves and this was a good simulation. We took on a very good Cornell team and I am proud of how we competed today,"

The Bearcats turned in a pool record in the men's 400 medley relay with a time of 3:20.64. The previous mark of 3:26.04 was set by the Bearcats back in 2010. Freshmen Keegan Chatham and Elijah Lanfear, sophomore Liam Murphy and senior Ryan Board were on the record-breaking quartet.

Board went on the win the men's 100 breast (55.89) while Lanfear captured the 50 free (21.33). The Bearcats' other event winner on the men's side was sophomore George Kipshidze, who won the 200 free (1:42.06).

In the women's meet, sophomore Marley Zimmerman won the 200 free (1:56.59) and anchored the first-place 200 free relay (1:40.13). The other members of the 200 free relay team included sophomores Molly Greeley and Madison Hoover as well as junior Alyssa Martin.

Zimmerman has now won six individual events in the past three dual meets. She has won the 200 free in all three meets.

The other event winner for Binghamton on the women's side was sophomore Courtney Moane, who took top honors in the 100 breast (1:07.43). Moane completed the weekend with three individual victory in the two meets.

Prior to the meet, Binghamton held its annual Senior Day Ceremony. This years senior honorees included Board, Christopher Egan, Benjamin Beldner, Brian Harding, Nathan DeGuzman, Belen Marriaga, Amanda McGraw and Katie Schultz.

Binghamton now gears up for the America East Championships, which will be held Feb. 10-13 and be hosted by WPI.
