Men’s Soccer Travels to Cornell

Bearcats and Big Red Square Off Tuesday at 7 p.m.

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (3-6-4, 1-1-2 AE ) is coming off of a 4-1 win on Senior Day against UMass Lowell on Saturday. Senior forward Matthew Cozetti and Devin Heanue each finished the match with a goal and an assist.

- The Bearcats have gone unbeaten in their past five matches, having gone 3-0-2 during that stretch. In the process, they have outscored their opponents 14-3.

- Senior goalkeeper Mats Roorda, who has been named the America East Defensive Player of the Week twice this season, ranks second in the America East with a .776 save percentage. He is also third with a 1.022 goals against average (GAA) and has recorded three shutouts.

- Cozetti ranks first on the team with eight total points (three goals, two assists) and is tied for first in goals with junior midfielders Markos Touroukis and Anthony Lazaridis.

- Cornell (9-3-0, 2-1-0 Ivy League) was ranked No. 16 in the United Soccer Coaches' (USC) National poll last week before dropping matches to Colgate (1-0) and Penn (3-2).

- Brandon Morales leads the Big Red in goals (six) and total points (15). As a team, the Big Red is averaging 2.17 goals per game. 

- Cornell leads the all-time series 8-4-1, having won the past three meetings. Most recently, the Big Red won 2-1 at the Bearcats Sports Complex on Oct. 19, 2021. The Bearcats' last victory in the series came back on Sept. 23, 2009 when they won 2-0 at Cornell.

- This match marks the first of three straight road games for Binghamton. The Bearcats head to New Hampshire on Saturday and Bryant a week from Friday.
