PRINCETON, N.J. - Binghamton men's lacrosse (0-2) fell on the road at No. 18 Princeton 22-9 Tuesday afternoon at Sherrerd Field. The host Tigers (2-0) scored six of the game's first seven goals, including one just 39 seconds into the action. After netting six goals in the first quarter, Princeton added eight more in the second before the Bearcats played a near-even second half (8-6).
Senior Daniel MacKinney and sophomore Ross Chazanow scored back-to-back goals early in the second quarter to bring BU to within three, 6-3. But the Tigers responded with eight unanswered goals in a 12:54 span to extend their lead.
Graduate attack Justin Roderka and senior midfielder Andrew Arce each scored twice to pace the Bearcats' offense. Roderka bunched his goals into a 3:28 span in the third quarter.
In the final quarter, senior Kevin Winkoff scored his fourth of the season, freshman Griffin Chernoff scored his first career goal, and junior Dylan Braddock added his first of the season.
At the faceoff position, junior Matthew Desouza finished the day 10-of-17 and Chazanow finished 6-of-17 with his goal in the second quarter coming off a faceoff win.
In net, redshirt junior Teddy Dolan finished with 11 saves and senior Robert Martin tallied one save in eight minutes of play.
The Bearcats will be back on the road on Saturday to take on Lafayette (2-1).
