VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton baseball will finish up its four-game SEC gauntlet a day early when the Bearcats (3-9) face defending NCAA champion land 23rd-ranked Mississippi State (10-7) at 7 p.m. (ET) tonight at Dudy Noble Field. The game was moved up a day with bad weather expected on Tuesday.
Binghamton finished up a three-game series at Alabama Sunday afternoon and made the short drive to Starkville Sunday night.
Junior second baseman
Cavan Tully leads the regulars with five extra-base hits and a .355 average. Freshman DH
Evin Sullivan is hitting .343. Graduate center fielder
Garrett Matheny has a team-high seven RBI.

Justin Rosner (1-0, 0.00 ERA) is expected to make his first start of the season tonight.
The Bulldogs are coming off a 50-18 season that culminated with a national title after wins over Vanderbilt last June in Omaha. It will be the second time the Bearcats faces the reigning NCAA champions. Back in 2010, BU lost at defending champion LSU 13-7 in Baton Rouge. In that game, BU led 7-6 in the eighth inning before the Tigers rallied. Binghamton Hall of Famer Corey Taylor had two home runs and six RBI in the game.
Mississippi State is 8-3 at home and is coming off a three-game weekend sweep of Princeton in which they outscored the Tigers 23-5. The Bulldogs are hitting .266 as a team and have a pitching ERA of 4.15.
