Lewisburg, PA– Binghamton men's lacrosse (1-3) fell on the road to Bucknell (5-0). The Bison used a pair of six goal runs to secure the victory against BU. The first six goal run spanned from 6:30 in the first to 6:37 in the second quarter, giving the Bison a 7-2 lead early on.
In the third quarter, Binghamton cut the lead to 9-7 after Winkoff scored his second goal of the afternoon with 5:18 left in the quarter. The Bison responded by scoring eight of the next 10 goals, including the second run of six straight goals jumping out to a 17-8 lead.
On the offensive side of the ball, seniors Kevin Winkoff and Andrew Arce found the back of the net three times each. With the goals Winkoff now has 11 on the season and Arce has five which matches his career high in a season. Thomas Greenblatt, Quinn O'Hara, Daniel Mackinney, Ross Chazanow, and Ethan Insinga each found the back of the net.
Defensively, senior Drew Furlong led the Bearcats with three caused turnovers, junior Matthew Desouza picked up 7 groundballs, and redshirt junior Teddy Dolan finished with 18 saves.
Binghamton scored three goals in a 1:20 span in the fourth but it wasn't enough to overcome the Bison lead.
BU will close out the four game road stretch on Tuesday, March 8 in Hempstead when they take on Hofstra.
