Men’s lacrosse hits the road to face Vermont

Binghamton men's lacrosse (5-6, 3-1 AE) will be back in action Saturday at Vermont (7-6, 4-0 AE). The Bearcats are looking to add another conference win after beating NJIT 18-8 on Tuesday. 

Notes

  • With the win over NJIT, BU clinched an America East playoff berth for the first time since 2017.

  • Senior Kevin Winkoff continues to pace the Bearcats offense, tallying nine points against NJIT with five goals and four assists to up his total to 45 points on the season.

  • Junior Matthew Desouza and sophomore Ross Chazanow controlled the faceoffs, going a combined 17-29 against NJIT. 

  • Redshirt junior goalie Teddy Dolan recorded 19 saves, following a career high and program record of 20 saves against Stony Brook. 

Scouting Vermont

  • Vermont clinched an America East playoff berth with a 14-6 win against UAlbany. The Catamounts are undefeated in conference play and are currently the No. 1 seed in the conference standings.

  • The Catamounts have outscored America East opponents 63-21 this season.

  • Thomas McConvey leads Vermont with 32 goals, including four against UAlbany. 

  • David Closterman leads the Catamounts offense with 21 assists. He tallied six points against UAlbany off two goals and four assists.

Series History

  • Binghamton leads the all-time series 10-9 against Vermont, winning the last matchup 10-7 at the Bearcats Sports Complex on April 24, 2021.
