Men’s Soccer Hosts Canisius

Bearcats and Golden Griffs face off Saturday at 1 p.m.

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (0-4-1) is coming off a 2-2 tie against Nigara last Friday at the Bearcats Sports Complex. Junior back Joe Spires and sophomore back Carlo Cavalar scored the Binghamton goals. Graduate student goalkeeper P.J. Parker, who has made three straight starts, finished with three saves against the Purple Eagles.

- Canisius (1-2-2) is also coming off of a tie. It drew 1-1 with St. Bonaventure last Friday night. The Golden Griffs' lone goal was scored by Reilly Boyer - the first of his collegiate career. Canisius has won or tied its last three games.

- Binghamton is 4-1-0 all-time against Canisius. Most recently, the Bearcats defeated the Golden Griffs 3-1 on Sept. 11, 2021. Ethan Homler scored on a penalty kick and added an assist in the victory. 

- The Bearcats' match against Canisius marks the second of a three-game home stand. Binghamton last played three straight home games from Sept. 9-20, 2014.

- All of Binghamton's goals this season have been scored by transfer players. In addition to Spires and Cavalar, junior midfielder Markos Touroukis netted a goal in the season opener against James Madison back on Aug. 25.
