Men’s Soccer Travels to NJIT

Bearcats face off against Highlanders Saturday at 7 p.m.

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (1-6-3, 0-1-0 AE) defeated Hartford 8-1 on Tuesday night. Five Bearcat players finished the game with multiple points, led by junior midfielder Markos Touroukis with two goals and an assist. Senior back Devin Heanue had a goal and two assists while senior forward Matthew Cozetti scored twice against the Hawks.

- Touroukis leads the Bearcats so far this season with three goals and seven total points. He currently ranks No. 10 in the America East 

- NJIT (3-3-3, 0-0-1 AE) is coming off a scoreless tie against UMass Lowell. Samuel Reisgys recorded seven saves in the shutout. The Highlanders have won or tied their last three matches.

- Maximus Barboto of NJIT leads the America East with four assists so far this year. Reisgys leads the conference with four shutouts.

- Binghamton is 0-2-0 all-time against NJIT.  The most recent matchup came on Oct. 23, 2021, in which the Highlanders defeated the host Bearcats 3-2 in overtime. Current junior midfielder Anthony Lazaridis scored both of Binghamton's goals in that match.

- Both Binghamton and NJIT enter the match averaging 1.22 goals per game.
