Men’s Soccer Heads to No. 19 Bryant for AE Semifinals

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (5-9-3) returns to the America East semifinals for the second season in a row. The Bearcats defeated UMBC 1-0 in the conference quarterfinals last Saturday. Senior midfielder Markos Touroukis scored in the 79th minute to break the scoreless tie. Redshirt senior midfielder Anthony Lazaridis and senior midfielder Billy Clark were credited with the assist.

- Graduate student midfielder Jack Green leads Binghamton with 10 total points this season with three goals and four assists. He is ranked seventh in the America East with .250 assists per game. Lazaridis has eight total points this season with three goals and two assists, while Touroukis has six total points with three goals.

- Bryant (14-1-2) is currently ranked No. 19 in the United Soccer Coaches (USC) National Poll. Marc Pitarch Bayot leads the Bulldogs with 27 total points (11 goals and five assists). He leads the conference in both goals (.688 per game) and total points (1.69 per game). On defense, Antreas Hadjigavriel is ranked second in both the America East and the NCAA with a .235 goals against average (GAA). 

- During the regular season, Bryant defeated Binghamton 5-0 on Oct. 31. The Bulldogs were ranked No. 25 at the time. 

- Wednesday's match marks the first time Binghamton and Bryant will square off in the America East Tournament since the Bulldogs joined the conference in 2022. 

- Binghamton is making its 10th appearance in the America East semifinals, having gone 6-2-1 all time. The Bearcats' last semifinal victory was a 1-0 triumph at UAlbany in 2015.

- This match marks the sixth time Binghamton will face a nationally-ranked team this season. In addition to the previous game this season against the Bulldogs, the Bearcats met then top-ranked Syracuse on Aug. 28, No. 19 New Hampshire (Sept. 23), No. 18 Hofstra (Sept. 26) and No. 22 Vermont (Oct. 14).
