Men's Lacrosse set to travel to Marist

Game is scheduled to begin at Noon

VESTAL, N.Y.- Binghamton University's men's lacrosse team is traveling to Poughkeepsie this Saturday for their 2023 season opener against Marist (0-1). The action is set to begin at Noon on ESPN3.

Notes

  • Opens season with back to back away games. First time since 2020.

  • All-Conference selections returners: Redshirt junior Thomas Greenblatt, graduate student Max Verch, sophomore Lorenzo Ramos, and sophomore Jack Fearnley (will miss season due to injury)

  • Ranked fifth in America East Conference preseason polls.

  • Sophomore Connor Winters and freshman Garrett Taylor will compete in the net.

  • The Bearcats look to reload on the offensive side of the ball losing four of their top five goalscorers from a season ago.

  • In the last meeting, Greenblatt, Ethan Insinga, and Matthew Keegan were able to find the back of the net, each scoring a goal.

About Marist

  • Finished the 2022 season with a 7-8 (5-1 MAAC) record.

  • Opened their 2023 season against No. 9 Rutgers with a loss, 20-8.

  • James Lyons led the team with three goals and an assist, in goal Noble Smith had an 80% save percentage.

  • Marist was selected first in the MAAC preseason poll.

Series matchup

  • This will be the 12th time Binghamton will face Marist.

  • Marist leads the series 6-5. 

  • Bearcats have a 2-3 record on the road against Marist.

  • Marist won the last matchup in 2022, 11-9.
