Men’s Lacrosse begins America East play at Merrimack

VESTAL, N.Y.- Binghamton men's lacrosse (4-2) gets set to begin America East play on the road at Merrimack (4-2). The Bearcats come into the contest after a 14-9 win on the road at Fairfield. Merrimack comes in off of a 16-8 win at Quinnipiac on Mar. 5.

About Binghamton

  • Come into the contest with a 4-2 record, best start since 2017

  • Sophomore Matthew Keegan comes into the game with 19 goals on the season, 6 goals last week against Fairfield, Keegan is T-1 in the America East in goals per game (3.17), third in points per game (3.67)

  • Redshirt junior Thomas Greenblatt comes off of a 6 point performance (2 goals, 4 assists), Greenblatt leads the America East in points per game (4.17) and assists per game (2.17)

  • Senior Matthew DeSouza and junior Ross Chazanow have remained consistent throughout the season at the faceoff position, the duo sits atop the America East in faceoff percentage, DeSouza ranks 16th in the nation and Chazanow ranks 25th in the nation in faceoff win percentage

About Merrimack

  • Sophomore Brian Russell leads the team with 17 goals

  • Senior Jack Rooney and sophomore Trace Hogan lead the Warriors with 12 assists (T-2 in the America East)

  • Junior goalie Henry Vogt ranks first in the America East in save percentage (60%), allowing just over 9 goals per game, Vogt earned America East Defensive Player of the Week last week
