Women's Lacrosse travels to UNH on Saturday

Bearcats are looking for fifth-straight win

VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton women's lacrosse travels to New Hampshire on Saturday afternoon for an America East battle with the Wildcats. The Bearcats are trying to extend their win streak to five games, and they are looking to stay unbeaten in America East play after last Saturday's victory against UMBC. New Hampshire also won their conference opener against UMass Lowell, 15-11.

Notes

  • Binghamton is averaging just under 13 goals per game and just under six assists per game. 
  • Abigail Carroll leads the team with 28 goals, which puts her in the top five in the America East. She leads the team with 35 points. Carroll was recently named AE Offensive Player of the Week for her five-goal performances against Cornell and UMBC. Carroll is t-20th in the NCAA in goals.

  • Kenna Newman is second on the team with 33 points (13 goals and 20 assists, which also leads the team). Newman leads the America East in assists and is t-23rd in the NCAA. Newman is fourth in the America East for assists per game. 

  • Angelina Suau leads the America East with 28 ground balls, which is 13th in the NCAA. Suau also leads the America East in ground balls per game (2.8), which has her 27th in the NCAA. Suau is also third in the America East in caused turnovers (19) and caused turnovers per game (1.9).

  • Three more players also have more than 10 goals on the season. Olivia Muscolino is second on the team with 20 goals, Marisa Tancredi has 17 goals, Isabella Meli has 15 goals, and Hayley Weltner has 13 goals.

  • Weltner has a team-high 58 draw controls and is tied for second in the America East in draw controls and is third in draw controls per game (5.8). Weltner set a new BU single-game record with 14 draw controls against UMBC. Weltner is t-15th in the NCAA for draw controls.

  • Emily Manning is second in the America East and is eighth in the NCAA with 79 saves. Manning is also third in the conference with 7.9 saves per game.

Scouting the Wildcats 

  • New Hampshire has wins against Merrimack and UMass Lowell. Katie Taranto led the team with four goals, while Grace Curran and Izzy Holmes each scored three.

  • Taranto is 10th in the America East with 19 goals, and sixth in the America East with 2.71 goals per game.

  • Mackenzie MacEachern has 31 draw controls to lead the team.

  • Maria Hagan has made 54 saves in seven games, and is fifth in the America East in saves per game.

Series History

  • New Hampshire leads the all-time series, 18-2. New Hampshire won the last meeting on April 23, 2022, 15-14. Carroll had four goals to lead the Bearcats.
