Women's Lacrosse hosts Colgate on Wednesday

Wednesday will serve as the One Love Dedication Game

VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton women's lacrosse hosts Colgate on Wednesday afternoon. Binghamton is striving to stay unbeaten at home. The Bearcats ran out of time for a late comeback attempt on Sunday as Niagara held on to prevail, 13-12. Niagara had a 13-9 lead with just over four minutes remaining in the game. Wednesday's game will serve as the One Love Dedication Game. 

  • Binghamton participated in One Love's February Wall Ball Challenge - raising awareness and funds for the organization. The Bearcats had a goal of every women's lacrosse student-athlete completing 1000 reps of wall ball over the course of the month
  • They also set a goal (and exceeded it) in raising $1000.00 for the organization. The team met their goal on February 28th and all funds have been sent directly to One Love. 
  • The team participated in a One Love Training Workshop put on by campus programming on March 3.

Binghamton will be wearing blue ribbons, as well as, stickers on their jerseys to honor the work being done by One Love and trying to increase awareness of healthy and unhealthy relationships.

Notes

  • Binghamton is averaging just over 10 goals per game and four assists per game.
  • Abigail Carroll leads the team with 13 goals.

  • As of March 2, Angelina Suau leads the America East with 20 ground balls, which is the fifth highest total in the NCAA. Suau also leads the America East in ground balls per game (3.33), which has her ranked inside the top 20 in the NCAA.

  • Hayley Weltner has a team-high 29 draw controls and ranks fourth in the America East in draw controls and draw controls per game (4.83). 

  • Emily Manning is second in the America East and seventh in the NCAA with 59 saves. Manning is also second in the conference with 9.8 saves per game. Manning is top 20 in the nation for saves per game/

Scouting the Raiders

  • Colgate is 1-3 on the season, with their lone win being a 12-8 victory against Niagara.

  • Caroline Panzirer leads the team with 11 goals.

  • Kyra Lucey leads the team in points with 12. (four goals, eight assists)

  • Cara O'Reilly has a team-high 20 draw controls. 

Series History

  • Colgate leads the all-time series, 8-6. Binghamton has won the last two meetings dating back to 2020, including a 14-4 road win last season.
