Softball Heads to Bryant for AE Series

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (17-12, 4-4 AE) took two out of three home games from UAlbany this past weekend. Freshman pitcher Brianna Roberts – the current America East Rookie of the Week – was 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA and 15 strikeouts. Redshirt sophomore utility player Lindsey Walter hit a team-best .500 while graduate student second baseman Alli Richmond drove in three runs.

- Walter leads the team and ranks fourth in the nation with a .486 batting average. She is also No. 18 with a .538 on-base percentage. Sophomore outfielder Laney Harbaugh ranks No. 30 with .61 stolen bases per game. Graduate student pitcher Sophia Pappas, meanwhile, ranks No. 48 with 8.7 strikeouts per game.

- Roberts is 7-2 and ranks second in the America East with 74 strikeouts and third with a 2,59 ERA. Redshirt sophomore utility player Brianna Santos is tied for second in the conference with 24 RBI and ranks ninth with a .342 batting average.

- As a team, the Bearcats rank second in the America East in both batting (.279) and pitching (3.06 ERA). Binghamton also ranks first in fielding (.965).

- Bryant (11-20, 3-5 AE) lost a doubleheader to visiting Siena on Wednesday by scores of 9-1 and 1-0. Aleix Hudson ranks third in the America East with a .367 batting average while Courtney Paolantonio is sixth (.343). Poalantonio also has three home runs and 15 RBI.

- This weekend marks the first-ever games between Binghamton and Bryant in softball. The Bulldogs joined the America East Conference last summer.
