Greenblatt breaks the single season assists record in program history

SMITHFIELD, RI.- Binghamton men's lacrosse (8-4, 4-2 AE) falls 14-10 in the first matchup in program history against Bryant (9-3, 5-1 AE). BU trailed 5-4 in the second quarter before Bryant reeled off a seven goal run to end the second and begin the third quarter to take a 12-4 lead with 13 minutes left in the period. 

Binghamton got off to a good start with the first two goals of the game scored by junior Ethan Insinga. Bryant would score the next four goals to close out the first quarter and take a 4-2 lead. Bryant's Johnny Hackett scored three of the four Bulldog goals to secure the hat trick in the first quarter. Hackett would finish with six goals on the day.

The team's would trade goals the first two goals of the second quarter, with senior Nicholas Imburgia finding the back of the net before Bryant responded. Trailing 5-3, BU would get another goal from Imburgia this time assisted by redshirt junior Thomas Greenblatt which tied the program record for assists in a single season. That would be the Bearcats final goal of the first half before Bryant went on the seven goal run. 

BU would score three straight in the third quarter including senior Dylan Braddock scoring his first goal of the season to cut the Bryant lead to five.

With just five minutes left in the fourth quarter, sophomore Matthew Keegan picked up his first goal of the day in a man-up opportunity which was assisted by Greenblatt, breaking the Binghamton single season assists record. Senior Quinn O'Hara and Keegan would close out the scoring for BU.

In the contest, the Bearcats out shot Bryant 50-38 and converted on all three man-up opportunities. The teams were equal in faceoffs with 14 apiece. Bryant's goalie Teagan Alexander made several big stops in the first half, finishing the game with 18 saves and a .667 save percentage, his second highest mark of the season.

Binghamton will be back in action on Saturday, April 29 for Senior Day against Albany.
