VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton volleyball will hold four youth camps this summer, the team announced on Monday. The Bearcats, reigning America East regular season champions, will hold
All Skills Camps on July 10-12 and July 24-26 and
Position Camps on July 13-14 and July 27-28.
All camps will be held at West Gym, home of the Bearcats. Veteran NCAA coach
CJ Werneke will lead the workouts, which are open to youths ages 12-18. The camps run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.
The
All Skills Camp is designed for athletes at the elementary, junior high level and high school levels who want to develop their skills in a fun and challenging environment. This camp is focused on fundamentals and developing a love for the game of volleyball. Whether learning the sport as a beginner or improving current skills, this camp will offer an outstanding opportunity to train at the speed of each participant. Games and competition will be used throughout as a learning tool to apply each skill to the overall sport of volleyball. With three training courts available, these camps ensure high-level training and skill development for every athlete. Cost is $300.
The
Position Camp is designed to help athletes (rising 6th-12th grade) take their setting, attacking, and libero skills to the next level. Players will choose which positional groups to join in order to get specific training aimed at improving their game. Setters will receive hundreds of repetitions and insight on how to deliver a more hittable ball for their attackers. Hitters will learn how to use their entire body throughout the attacking motion while implementing this skill within the complete game of volleyball. Liberos should stand out for more than her jersey color. Proper technique of serve receive, digging, and setting will be emphasized through dozens of repetitions and feedback. All groups will be trained to use proper footwork, body posture, and explosive movement. Our staff is here to help each athlete (grades 6-12) gain the advantage she needs to be an outstanding ball control player.Cost is $200.
