Four-day midseason meet runs Thursday-Sunday

VESTAL, N.Y – The Binghamton swimming & diving teams conclude the fall portion of their 2024-25 schedule as they travel to the Brown Invitational this weekend. The four-day meet runs Thursday-Sunday.

In addition to the Bearcats and host Bears, other teams taking part in the invite include Georgetown, New Hampshire (women only), Rider, Colgate and Drexel.

The Bearcats have had one of their busiest fall schedules in recent years – as they started their campaign Sept. 28 against Le Moyne. From there, the Bearcats hosted Bryant in a two-day meet (Oct. 18-19), took part in the Bucknell Invitational (Oct. 26), hosted Cornell (Nov. 8) and swam at Canisius (Nov. 2).

Senior men's captain Elijah Lanfear has been the Bearcats' most accomplished men's swimmer so far this season. He has won a team-best 13 individual events and has been named the America East Men's Swimmer of the Week a conference-best three times this season (Oct. 8, Oct. 22 and Nov. 5).

The top Binghamton women's performance this season was turned in by senior captain Lauren Kuzma in the meet against Bryant. She swept the 100 breast, 200 breast and 400 IM and was subsequently named the America East Women's Swimmer of the Week on Oct. 22. Currently, Kuzma has posted the top America East times in each of those events.

This marks the second year in a row that the men's and women's teams will take part in the Brown Invitational. The Bearcat men place third last year while the women were fourth.
