Men’s Soccer Ends Regular Season at No. 23 Vermont

Bearcats and Catamounts square off Tuesday at 6 p.m.

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (8-6-3, 2-3-1 AE) played to a 1-1 tie against UAlbany on Friday evening in its annual Senior Day match. Senior midfielder Billy Clark scored his first goal of the season with the assist going to senior forward Lucas Constante.

- With one match left in the regular season, the Bearcats sit in sixth place in the America East with seven points. They are two points ahead of UMass Lowell and three points up on UAlbany in the race for the final spot in the upcoming six-team conference tournament.

- Senior back Luke Yates and sophomore forward Anthony Randazzo each have scored a team-best four goals so far this season. Sophomore midfielder Marcus Nahim is first on the team and third in the America East with five assists. Yates and redshirt sophomore forward Cailen Thomas, meanwhile, are tied for fourth in the conference with a pair of game-winning goals. 

- Vermont (9-2-4, 4-1-1 AE) is in first place in the America East. The Catamounts are also ranked No. 23 in both the United Soccer Coaches' (USC) Top 25 poll and the College Soccer News' Top 30 poll.

- In its most recent match, the Catamounts won 2-1 at UMass Lowell on Friday. Yaniv Bazini and Maximilian Kissel scored the goals for Vermont.

- Kissel is tied for third in the America East with seven goals so far this season. Sydney Wathula, meanwhile, is first with eight assists. As a team, Vermont leads the conference in scoring offense with 2.00 goals per game (GPG).

- Vermont leads the all time series against Binghamton 16-6-3, having swept the last nine meetings. Most recently, the Catamounts won 5-0 at the Bearcats Sports Complex on Oct. 14, 2023. Vermont was ranked No. 22 heading into that match. Binghamton's last win in the series was a 2-1 road decision on Oct. 8, 2015.

- Binghamton's most recent victory over a nationally-ranked team was its 2-1 victory against New Hampshire on Sept. 29, 2018 at the Bearcats Sports Complex. A facility record 3,265 fans attended the match, which took place on Family Weekend.
