VESTAL, N.Y. -- During the fall semester, student-athletes attended two presentations by Molly Morgan RDN, CDN, CSSD. Topics included "Maximize Performance with Food and Nutrition Strategies" and "Sports Nutrition Solutions for Busy Athletes." These sessions were packed with practical tips and strategies to help athletes fuel and refuel effectively, even with busy schedules, to maximize performance.
As part of this series, there was also a session geared toward coaches titled "Sports Nutrition Strategies for Coaches". This session was aimed to help coaches support their student-athletes with sports nutrition strategies that enhance performance.
"If you change nothing, nothing will change so what can you do to be better today?" said Molly Morgan, challenging the student-athletes and coaches to be better.
These presentations took place in the TAU Bearcats Clubroom on campus during the fall 2024 semester with one more to be held in the spring 2025 semester. These presentations were part of Ben G. VanDerLinde '84 Memorial Bearcat Speaker Series for Student-Athletes.
"I was fortunate to have the opportunity to attend three nutrition presentations given by Molly Morgan RDN, CDN, CSSD," head women's tennis coach Paul Caceres said. These informative presentations were filled with food and nutrition strategies and tips to help athletes maximize training and performance, while keeping costs and budgets in mind. I appreciated that Molly encouraged questions and gave ample time for questions and answers. The Hydration Handouts and Nutrient Rich Meal Ideas were also helpful. My student-athletes that attended found the presentations to be beneficial and useful."
Morgan is an experienced registered dietitian and author. She started Creative Nutrition Solutions in 2005 and has worked with Fortune 500 companies, national brands, and professional sports teams. Molly extensively writes and develops recipes and content for numerous projects and has authored three books including: Drink Your Way to Gut Health (2015), Skinny Size-It (2014), and The Skinny Rules (2011). She was a sports nutrition consultant to the Ottawa and Belleville Senators (NHL/AHL hockey) for 14 seasons. Where she created and developed custom nutrition plans for players, recipes, and interactive workshops.
