VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton baseball (13-18) hosts Cornell (10-13) in a non-conference game at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday night at the Bearcats Baseball Stadium.

Binghamton has won six straight non-conference games and will look to regain some momentum before returning to America East play this weekend. The Bearcats have dropped five of their last six conference games and are looking to make some some ground in the standings with just four series' remaining in the regular season.

Senior right fielder Mike Gunning leads the America East in home runs (13) and ranks third in both RBI (32) and runs (29). The Bearcats are hitting .265 (fourth in AE) and have a 5.99 pitching ERA (third). They lead the league with a .973 fielding percentage. Sophomore Dan McAliney (1-1, 10.12 ERA) will make his first start of the season.

Cornell won two of three at Penn this weekend and has won eight of its last 10 games. The team is currently in second place in the Ivy League standings (8-4), just one game behind Columbia.

The Big Red are hitting .283 and have a 7.41 pitching ERA.

Junior outfielder John Quinlan leads the team with a .359 average. Freshman catcher Mark Quatrani has team-highs of six home runs and 24 RBI. Freshman lefty Nathaniel Jennewein (0-1, 9.00 ERA) will make his first start of the season.

After the March 19 scheduled game in Ithaca was postponed, tonight's game is the first of two remaining games between the two teams. Cornell leads the all-time series 24-19-1. The teams have split the last nine games (4-4-1). Binghamton won last year's meeting 6-0 in Vestal on April 11.
