Softball Travels to UAlbany for AE Series

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (27-10, 9-2 AE) swept a doubleheader at UMass Lowell on Wednesday, winning by scores of 4-2, and 4-3. Senior pitcher Allison L'Amoreaux – the current America East Pitcher of the Week – got the win in the first game and belted a grand slam. In the nightcap, senior first baseman Alex Musial smacked a two-run double and redshirt junior third baseman Shelby Carvalho hit the game-winning home run.

- The Bearcats have won their past 12 games – their longest streak since also recording 12 straight victories from March 20-April 16, 2016. The program record for the longest winning streak is 13 games, which took place from March 7 – April 7, 1997.

- Sophomore pitcher Brianna Roberts ranks sixth in the America East with a .362 batting average while redshirt junior outfielder Brianna Santos is seventh (.359). Carvalho ranks second in the conference with seven home runs while L'Amoreaux is seventh with 25 RBI.

- On the mound, L'Amoreaux is second in the America East with 10 victories and while Roberts has eight wins, ranks first with four saves, is second with a 2.32 ERA and third with 93 strikeouts. Fellow sophomore pitcher Olivia Kennedy, meanwhile, has seven wins and is tied for third in the conference with a pair of saves.

- Binghamton ranks first in the America East with both a 3.07 ERA and a .972 fielding percentage. The Bearcats also rank third with a .280 batting average.

- UAlbany (19-10, 7-4 AE) defeated Providence 6-1 on Thursday. Morgan Petty went 3-for-4 with an RBI while Mary Kay Murray drilled a two-run home run.

- Maddi Petrella ranks third in the America East with an .368 batting average while Petty ranks fist with eight home runs. Petty is also sixth with 26 RBI.

- Wendi Hammond leads the conference with 14 victories while Kate Powers is tops with a 1.85 ERA. Hammond is also sixth with 75 strikeouts.

- The Great Danes ranks second in the America all three team statistical categories – batting (.283), pitching (3.08 ERA) and fielding (.963).

- UAlbany leads the all-time series 56-16. Last season, the Bearcats took two out of three games in a home series April 8-9 but the Great Danes swept a three-game home series May 5-6. In the second round of the conference tournament, UAlbany defeated Binghamton 6-0.
