Softball Hosts First-Place Bryant in AE Series

Bearcats and Bulldogs to play DH on Saturday, finale on Sunday

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (28-14, 10-4 AE) lost a doubleheader at home to Colgate on Wednesday by scores of 3-1 and 12-10. Senior catcher Hailey Ehlers, freshman pinch hitter Sami Levine and freshman designated player Emma Lawson each drove in three runs – all of which took place in the second game.

- Sophomore pitcher Brianna Roberts ranks eighth in the America East in batting (.350) while redshirt junior third baseman Shelby Carvalho is tied for second with eight home runs. Senior first baseman/pitcher Allison L'Amoreaux, meanwhile, is tied for eighth with 25 RBI.

- Roberts also ranks second in the conference with a 2.29 ERA, is third with 94 strikeouts and is tied for sixth with eight wins. In addition, she leads the America East with four saves. L'Amoreaux is tied for second with 10 wins and is ranks fourth with 91 strikeouts.

- As a team, Binghamton is first in the America East with a .968 fielding percentage and second with a 3.26 ERA. The Bearcats are also fourth in batting (.272).

- Bryant swept Holy Cross on Tuesday, winning by scores of 10-7 and 11-2. Hannah Cochran homered three times and drove in six runs during the doubleheader.

- Alexis Clancy leads the Bulldogs and ranks second in the America East with a .382 batting average while Cochran is third (.380). Cochran is also tied for second in the conference with eight home runs and is first with 37 RBI.

- On the mound, Gracie McGallop is tied for second with 10 wins. She also ranks sixth with a 3.01 ERA. Kylie Kenney, meanwhile, is sixth with 88 strikeouts and second with three saves.

- Bryant leads the America East with a .311 batting average. The Bulldogs are also fourth in pitching (3.59 ERA) and fielding (.957).

- Binghamton leads the all-time series against Bryant 4-2. Earlier in the season, however, the Bulldogs took two out of three games from the Bearcats at home March 22-24. This weekend's series marks Bryant's first-ever trip to Binghamton for a softball series.

- The Bearcats are slated to play their remaining six regular-season games at the Bearcats Sports Complex. Binghamton is 10-2 so far on its home field.

- With six regular-season games remaining, Binghamton is in position to reach the 30-win mark for just the fourth time in program history. The Bearcats won a program-record 37 games in 1997, 34 games in 2016 and 30 games in 2013.
