PINE MOUNTAIN, Ga. – In his final collegiate tournament, Evan Sitts put up his lowest score over 54 holes for his Binghamton career as he finished tied for fifth at the NEC Men's Golf Championship Sunday at Callaway Resort & Gardens. By finishing in the top 10, Sitts qualified for the All-Tournament Team.
 
The fifth year golfer shot 71/1-under par for the second round in a row to finish the three-round tournament with a score of 74-71-71 = 216/even par. This is Sitts' second top 10 finish of the season and third of his Binghamton career. It is also the first time he has finished in the top 10 of a 54-hole event. His other two top 10 finishes were when he placed tied for fifth at the 2023 Lehigh Invitational and tied for ninth at the 2021 Battle at Rum Point.
 
"Just a great performance," said Binghamton Head Coach Bernie Herceg. "I'm proud of him, I'm going to miss him and really, to finish off his career on a high note like this, he's never going to forget it."
 
The Bearcats finished the tournament fifth at 300-299-301 = 900/36-over par. Ryan Millevoi finished tied for 20th at 71-75-79 = 225/9-over par, making it his second top 20 finish of the season. Harrison Blech gained another four spots on the leaderboard to finish 26th at 80-75-73 = 228/12-over par. Brandon Conner ended up in a tie for 34th with a 78/6-over par each round for a final score of 234/18-over par. Sean Shen would finish tied for 38th at 77-79-81 = 237/21-over par.
 
"Overall, proud of the guys," said Herceg. "They hung in there all week, did their best and the guys that are coming back will learn from this and take away some good positives and then see what we got to do so for next year, we're ready to go and give it a good shot."
 
Howard won the team championship, while Marcus Lim of Sacred Heart earned medalist honors.
