Men’s Soccer Hosts CCSU on Family Weekend

Bearcats and Blue Devils Square off Saturday at 1 p.m.

STORY LINES

- Binghamton (5-2-1) won 3-1 at Saint Peter's on Tuesday afternoon for its third straight victory. The Bearcat goals - all of which came within a 17-minute stretch of the second half - were scored by graduate student back Chris Comber, redshirt sophomore back Gaven Egan and sophomore forward Anthony Randazzo.

- The three consecutive wins is the most by the Bearcats since they also took three straight decisions from Sept. 18-Oct. 2, 2021. Binghamton is also unbeaten in its last four matches (3-0-1) - a feat it last accomplished when it went 3-0-2 to start the 2016 season. 

- Randazzo is tied for first in the America East with three goals (six total points) while senior midfielder Billy Clark is tied for third with three assists. Senior back Luke Yates, meanwhile, has two goals and an assist (five total points) and ranks second in the conference with a pair of game-winning goals. In goal, graduate student Dylan McDermott has recorded three shutouts.

- Binghamton has scored four of its five game-winning goals so far this season within the final eight minutes of play. In addition, 10 of the Bearcats' 11 goals have come during the second half.

- Central Connecticut State University (0-6-1) lost 4-0 to America East member NJIT on Thursday evening. Ethan Agyare-Danso leads the Blue Devils with three total points (a goal and an assist) so far this season. CCSU's tie was a 1-1 deadlock against Rhode Island on Sept. 14.

- CCSU has played three America East teams so far this year. In addition to NJIT, the Blue Devils lost 2-0 to both UMass Lowell and Bryant. 

- CCSU leads the all-time series against Binghamton 2-0-0. Most recently, the Blue Devils took a 1-0 decision at the Bearcats Sports Complex back on Sept. 16, 2001.

- Binghamton is 4-1-0 all time in Family Weekend Games that have been played at the Bearcats Sports Complex. Most recently, the Bearcats defeated Stony Brook 1-0 back on Sept. 25, 2021. In five previous Family Weekend Games, the average attendance has been 2,041 fans and there have been a pair of sellouts.
