Golf Completes Final Day of “The Goat”

Brandon Conner climbs 23 spots on leaderboard; finishes tied for 41st

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Binghamton golf team completed its final day of competition at Navy's invitational, called, "The Goat," Sunday at Naval Academy Golf Club.
 
Brandon Conner rose 23 spots from the prior day to finish tied for 41st. The junior shot 71/even-par over his final 18 holes, his lowest score relative to par this season. He finished the three-round tournament with a score of 80-74-71 = 225/12-over par.
 
Harrison Blech also gained 17 spots on the final day after shooting 73/2-over par on Sunday. He finished the tournament tied for 57th at 79-78-73 = 230/17-over par.
 
Overall, the Bearcats finished the tournament 15th as a team. The University of the Pacific won the invitational, while Loyola Maryland's Gustavo Rangel earned medalist honors.
 
The Bearcats return home to host the Matthews Auto Collegiate Golf Invitational from Oct. 6-7 at The Links at Hiawatha Landing in Apalachin, N.Y. Binghamton finished tied for second as a team at the prior season's event, with Conner finishing tied for second on the individual leaderboard.
