Wrestling Takes No. 19 Lehigh to Final Match Before 23-16 Loss

Bearcats win four bouts against ranked Mountain Hawks team

VESTAL, N.Y. – The Binghamton wrestling team pushed No. 19 Lehigh to the final match of their dual before ultimately being defeated 23-16 Saturday at the Events Center.

The Bearcats won four bouts against the Mountain Hawks to take a 16-11 lead heading into the final three matches. Lehigh would come out victorious in those final three bouts, however, to take the dual.

"The guys that won did a nice job," said Binghamton Wrestling Head Coach Kyle Borshoff. "We've wrestled a lot over the past seven days. We got a lot of wrestling left to do this season, and it's disappointing to come out of this dual meet the way we did. After Brevin's match, we were in a really strong position to win this dual meet. And we didn't execute and close that dual meet out."

Highlights
•    Micah Roes got the Bearcats on the board with his first fall of the season after he pinned Logan Wadle in the first period to put Binghamton ahead 6-3. Roes has picked up bonus points in his last two matches after previously getting a 19-3 technical fall against Hofstra's Gauge Shipp on Thursday.
•    Fin Nadeau secured his third dual victory of the season by defeating Griffin Gonzalez 5-1. Tied at one in the third period, Nadeau got the lone takedown of the match to pick up three more points for Binghamton.
•    Carter Baer recorded his second major decision of the season thanks to a 9-1 win over Zeke Dubler.
•    Brevin Cassella used a reversal in the third period to ultimately shut out No. 31 Rylan Rogers 3-0. Cassella finishes the week with wins against three ranked opponents. He previously pinned No. 33 Branson John of Maryland and defeated No. 29 Avery Bassett of Lock Haven 5-3 Sunday at Journeymen Wrestling's Armbar.
