The Bearcats are set to compete in 21 matches this spring against 20 opponents from all three NCAA levels. Binghamton begins its second season in the Northeast Conference and first with Head Coach Paul Caceres at the helm this January.

"I am looking forward to our upcoming spring season," Caceres said. "We will compete against challenging opponents, which will help us raise our level and make us a stronger team as we progress towards the conference tournament."

Binghamton travels to the Rochester Institute of Technology, Feb. 9, before coming back to Vestal for an NEC match against Stonehill, Feb. 16, then contests vs. Ithaca, Feb. 21, and St. Bonaventure, Feb. 22.

The Bearcats head back out on the road for contests at Delaware State, March 1, NJIT, March 2, and Marist, March 8. Binghamton then faces Le Moyne at home, March 9, before leaving for a four-match roadstand at Rider, March 12, Merrimack, March 15, and Providence, March 16.

The Bearcats conclude their NEC slate with three straight conference matches, in Vestal against FDU, March 23, and away at LIU, March 29, and Sacred Heart, March 30. Binghamton finishes out the 2025 regular season on the road at Bloomsburg, April 2, Stony Brook, April 5, and Daemen, April 13.

The NEC Championship will be held April 17-19 in West Windsor, N.J., at the Mercer County Tennis Center.

FALL PREPARATIONS
Seven Bearcats returned to the 2024-25 roster this fall, three seniors, two juniors, and two sophomores. Three new freshmen rounded out the roster at ten.

Binghamton competed in six events across the fall slate, hosting one invitational and hitting the road for five contests. The Bearcats opened NEC competition with a 7-0 loss to St. Francis, Oct. 5.
"I thought it was a great experience, getting those matches in," Caceres said. "So overall I would say, I thought the fall went well and has hopefully prepared us for this upcoming spring."

Newcomer Clara Arbeloa Lopez led Binghamton with five singles victories this fall, highlighted by her NEC Invitational Flight B singles consolation win, Sept. 26. She also advanced to the Flight D semifinals at Navy's Bill and Sandra Moore Invitational, Sept. 7.

Valeria Gonzalez followed her teammate with four singles victories across the fall slate, three of those leading to her appearance in the Flight E singles final at Navy's Bill and Sandra Moore Invitational, Sept. 8.

The Bearcats picked up twelve doubles wins across six events this fall. Loren Cuomo and Natalia Aruj's four victories led all Binghamton duos after they took home a Flight A third-place finish at the NEC Invitational, Sept. 27.

SOMETHING SPECIAL
This season, both the men's and women's teams are set to host a variety of promotion's at  this season's home matches.

"I think it's great to collaborate with the men's team and be involved in these different things," said Caceres. "It definitely adds a little bit more excitement for some of the matches and gives what we do a deeper meaning."

Binghamton University President Harvey Stenger will deliver a ceremonial first serve before the women's team faces St. Francis, Feb. 1, to celebrate his upcoming retirement.

Cracked Racquets, a tennis media company, will provide guest commentary for the women's match against Stonehill, Feb. 16.

In association with Tennis Charities of Binghamton, both teams will also have the opportunity to host youth groups from the Kings County Tennis League and Cary Leeds Center, Feb. 21-23. The groups will be able to attend practices, matches, spectate Binghamton and go on campus tours.

"Community events help with team bonding, not only among my team, but between both teams," Caceres added. "I think it's great and I'm hoping to do some more events like these in the future as well."

THE OUTLOOK
"The goal this season is just to improve as much as we can," said Caceres. "We're slowly building up our confidence and just trying to get better day by day, match by match. Hopefully over the course of the season, we'll become better and stronger, and we'll be in the best position possible when it comes time for the conference tournament.

"We obviously want to try and win as many matches as we can, but we know it's a process, we know it's gonna take time," he stated. "So I think everyone is trying to do their best, figure out the best way to improve and how to collectively get better as a team."
