Tirado, Norby and Iwanow Repeat as AE Weekly Winners

Bearcat trio continues hot starts to the season

VESTAL, N.Y. – Another week. Another weekly honor for the Binghamton swimming & diving trio of senior Elizabeth Tirado, junior Dylan Norby and freshman Julia Iwanow. 

For the second week in a row, Tirado and Norby have swept the America East Diver of the Week honors. Iwanow, meanwhile, repeated as the conference's Rookie of the Week.

Tirado continued her stellar season in Binghamton's meet against Niagara on Saturday, sweeping the one- and three-meter diving events with scores of 271.95 and 255.90 respectively. In the process, Tirado met the NCAA Zone standard in the one-meter event, marking the second time this season she has met a Zone mark. Tirado previousy hit the NCAA Zone standard in the three-meter competition at Le Moyne two weeks ago.

Norby won the men's three-meter diving event against Niagara with a score of 319.50. In the process, he nearly met the mark for the NCAA Zone Meet for the second time this season. Norby was also the runner up in the one-meter event with a score of 270.90. 

Iwanow, meanwhile, continued her impressive rookie campaign by sweeping the 200 breaststroke (2:18.96) and 200 IM (2:10.06) against the Purple Eagles. Her 200 breast time currently ranks first in the America East Conference while her 200 IM time ranks third. In addition, her time of 1:05.28 in the 100 breaststroke - which was good for second place against Niagara - also ranks first in the America East Conference. 

Bucknell heads to Bryant for a two-day meet Friday-Saturday.
