Box Score LOWELL, Mass. – Ethan Agyare-Danso scored in the 81st minute, lifting UMass Lowell (6-4-1, 1-1-0 AE) to a 1-0 win over Binghamton (4-8-0, 0-2-0 AE) in an America East men's soccer match on Saturday evening at the Cushing Field Complex.
Agyare-Danso, whose goal was his first of the season, fired the ball into the upper-right corner of the net from close range. The assists were credited to Ethan Young and Shunnosuke Nakajima.
The Bearcats were down a player for the final 18 minutes of play when junior forward Anthony Randazzo was booked with his second yellow card of the match. That resulted in an automatic red card and ejection from the match.
"The red card changed the complexion of the match," head coach Paul Marco said. "We were really good up until that point and I still thought we were going to come away with a tie even after going down a player. We need our guys to be more resilient during the match. It was really disappointing to lose tonight."
UMass Lowell out shot the Bearcats 14-9 and had all seven shots on goal during the match.
Senior goalkeeper
Jack Root finished with five saves.
Binghamton heads to Bucknell on Tuesday for a 7 p.m. non-conference match.
