VESTAL, N.Y. - After spending the first month of the season on the road, Binghamton baseball starts a stretch of eight straight at home when the Bearcats (5-8) host in-state foe St. Bonaventure (7-7) at 3 p.m. Tuesday afternoon at the Bearcats Baseball Complex. The Bonnies are fresh off a four-game gauntlet against SEC and national powers, No. 1 Tennessee and No. 17 Vanderbilt. They went 0-4 and were outscored by a combined 50-4. Before that, St. Bonaventure won seven of 10 games, including notable wins over Old Dominion and Gardner-Webb. They have a .257 team batting average and a 9.06 pitching ERA. Sophomore outfielder Jayce Tharnish leads the team with a .392 average, three home runs and 14 RBI. One of the Bonnies' highlight newcomers is graduate transfer and former Bearcat standout outfielder
Mike Gunning.
Binghamton is 12-5 all-time against St. Bonaventure, including an 8-7 10-inning win last March. The teams have split the last four games in the series, which dates back to 1952.
