Women’s Lacrosse Handed Loss at Bryant

Muscolino, Blloshmi register hat tricks in first America East game of the season

Box Score SMITHFIELD, R.I. (binghamtonbearcats.com) - Binghamton Women's Lacrosse (3-7, 0-1) fell to Bryant (6-4, 1-1),17-6, Saturday afternoon at Beirne Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Bryant notched the first goal of the afternoon before Emma Blloshmi registered her 19th free position of the year score to tie up the contest at one. The Bulldogs put up a 4-0 run in four minutes to lead 5-1 until Blloshmi scored again off an assist from Olivia Muscolino to cut Bryant's edge to three. The Bulldogs tallied one more to close the frame, 6-2. 

Bryant recorded a pair of goals in the second quarter and held Binghamton scoreless on nine shots. The Bulldogs defense posted six saves to head into the locker room up 8-2.  

Bryant registered the initial goal of the second half to own a 9-2 advantage until Muscolino found the back of the net for the first time with 12:51 left in the frame. The Bulldogs increased their edge to 12-3 with three straight scores in the next seven minutes of play. Blloshmi and Muscolino tallied back-to-back goals for Binghamton before Bryant closed out the frame on a 3-0 scoring streak to lead 15-5. 

The Bulldogs put up the first goal in the final frame before Muscolino found Mia Forte to complete her hat trick to make the contest, 16-6. Bryant scored once more with 1:07 left in regulation to secure a 17-6 victory.

GAME NOTES
  • Emma Blloshmi registered her ninth hat trick in 10 games with three goals against Bryant. She went 2-2 from the eight-meter line to rank second nationally with 2.00 free position goals per game. Blloshmi has scored in Binghamton's last 12 games. 
  • Olivia Muscolino notched her third consecutive hat trick after she found the back of the next three times vs. the Bulldogs. Muscolino continues to add to her program-best 192 career points and 138 career goals. 
  • Mia Forte chipped in a career-high two assists this afternoon, both on goals from Muscolino.
