Women’s Lacrosse Hosts Brown Sunday

Bearcats look to pick up third ever win against an Ivy League opponent

VESTAL, N.Y. (binghamtonbearcats.com) - Binghamton Women's Lacrosse (2-4) plays host to Brown (4-0), Sunday afternoon, March 9. First draw is slated for 1 p.m at the Bearcats Sports Complex and on ESPN+. 

LAST TIME OUT 
Binghamton fell to Campbell, 16-13, March 5, at the Bearcats Sports Complex. Emma Blloshmi got the Bearcats on the board with a free-position goal in the first minute of play to lead 1-0. Campbell notched three consecutive scores next and held Binghamton to zero goals to end the quarter up 3-1.

Blloshmi struck first for the Bearcats once again in the second frame to cut the advantage to one before Campbell recorded back-to-back goals to go up 5-2. Olivia Muscolino scored the first of Binghamton's next four consecutive goals to retake a 6-5 lead. 

Campbell recorded a goal late in the second quarter to even the contest at six until Anthea Hayslip and Carla Curth found the back of the net in the final 30 seconds of play for Binghamton. The Bearcats led the Camels 8-6 heading into halftime. 

Campbell registered three quick scores coming out of the locker room to jump ahead, 9-8. Sienna Fox and Marisa Tancredi then netted goals next to give Binghamton back a 10-9 edge. The Camels closed out the third and opened the fourth quarter on a 6-0 run to lead 15-10. 

Blloshmi, Hayslip and Curth notched three goals in the final six minutes of play to trim Campbell's edge to two, 15-13, but the Camels scored once more to claim a 16-13 victory. 

GAME NOTES vs. CAMPBELL
  • Emma Blloshmi recorded five goals and one assist against Campbell to register back-to-back six point contests for Binghamton. Blloshmi posted a career-high six goals in the team's last contest at Marist, March 1. She has tallied a hat trick or better in each of the Bearcats' six games this season. 
  • Blloshmi converted on both of her free position attempts today to lead the Bearcats with 11 free position goals this season. The junior ranks second in the nation with 1.83 free position goals per game behind No. 3 Northwestern's Madison Taylor with 2.33. 
  • Carla Curth posted her first hat trick of 2025 against Campbell, the fourth of her career. The junior scored three times on four shots this afternoon. 
  • Marisa Tancredi scored her first goal in 668 days for the Bearcats this afternoon after she was sidelined with an injury before the 2024 season. The senior found the back of the net off an assist from Olivia Muscolino in the third quarter. 
  • Anthea Hayslip chipped in her second, two-goal performance of the season over the Camels. Hayslip recorded two scores in the Bearcats season opener against Colgate, Feb. 12. 
  • Jess Robinson notched a season-high three assists vs. Campbell. Robinson tallied a career-best four assists last season against Youngstown State, April 6, 2024.  
  • Mckenna Kobler tallied a season-high seven draw controls this afternoon. The junior picked up four draws at St. Bonaventure, Feb. 25. 
  • The Bearcats registered a season-best 20 points, 13 goals and seven assists against Campbell.
HERE COMES EMMA B
Emma Blloshmi has scored three or more goals in each of Binghamton's six games this spring. 

The junior opened the season with a hat trick at Villanova, Feb. 8, then produced back-to-back five point, four goal contests against Colgate, Feb. 12, and Siena, Feb. 15. Blloshmi recorded another hat trick at St. Bonaventure, Feb. 25, before she notched a career-high six goals at Marist, March 1. She then posted two consecutive, six-point performances with five goals and one assist vs. Campbell, March 5. 

Blloshmi's 1.8 goals per game ranks third nationally behind No. 3 Northwestern's Madison Taylor with 2.3. Her 4.2 goals per game is sixth in the country. 

The attacker picked up her first career America East Offensive Player of the Week honor, Feb. 17. The nod was a career-first for Blloshmi who was selected as America East Rookie of the Week twice in 2024.

With four goals in Binghamton's 12-11 America East Championship win over UAlbany, May 3, 2024, and one in the team's first-ever NCAA appearance at Yale, May 10, 2024, Blloshmi has scored in the Bearcats last seven contests.  

ALL HAIL ANGE 
Angelina Suau was named America East Defensive Player of the Week, the conference announced Monday afternoon, March 3. 

Suau collected nine ground balls and seven caused turnovers in two games for Binghamton last week. She collected a career-high seven ground balls and matched her personal best with six caused turnovers against St. Bonaventure, Feb. 25. 

The honor is the third career honor for the senior after she was named Defensive Player of the Week twice in 2023. 

MUSCOLINO MAKES HISTORY 
Olivia Muscolino became Binghamton all-time points (173) and goals (126) leader in the Bearcats first four games this season. 

The senior rose to first-place in Binghamton program history with 125 career goals after she scored twice against St. Bonaventure, Feb. 25, passing Rebecca Golderman's (2016-19) previous mark of 124. Muscolino became the Bearcats' all-time points leader just 13 days earlier with two goals and two assists against Colgate, Feb. 12, breaking Ali Castiglie's (2008-11) previous total of 160. 

Muscolino set a Bearcat single-season record last spring with 72 points, 52 goals and 120 shots.

Marisa Tancredi scored her first goal in 668 days for the Bearcats against Campbell, March 5, after she was sidelined with an injury before the 2024 season. The senior found the back of the net off an assist from Olivia Muscolino in the third quarter.


ONE LOVE 
Binghamton hosts its One Love game against Brown. On Sunday, the women's lacrosse program will advocate for the One Love Foundation, a national nonprofit with the goal of ending relationship abuse by empowering young people with tools and resources to see and prevent the signs of healthy and unhealthy relationships. 

SERIES vs. BROWN
Binghamton and Brown will meet for the first time in program history this weekend. 

The Bearcats are 2-14 all-time against Ivy League opponents. Binghamton's first win against an Ivy League foe came at home against Columbia, 12-11, Aprill 20, 2011. The Bearcats also secured a 13-12 victory over Cornell, March 15, 2023. 

Brown owns a 4-0 record to begin the 2025 season with wins over New Hampshire, Holy Cross, Sacred Heart and Vermont. The Bears outscored opponents 80-17 in their first four contests this spring.
