Men’s Lacrosse Ready for Road Game Against UMBC

Bearcats tied their program record for goals in a game the last time they played the Retrievers

VESTAL, N.Y. – The Binghamton men's lacrosse team goes back on the road this weekend to play the University of Maryland, Baltimore County Saturday at noon at UMBC Stadium.

About Binghamton
  • The Bearcats fell for the first time in America East Conference play this season after they were defeated by UAlbany 11-9 on April 5 at the Bearcats Sports Complex. Liam Ferris posted three goals for his fifth hat trick of the season, while Gage Adams added another two tallies for Binghamton.
  • Ferris' hat trick was the 11th of his career with the Bearcats. He trails both Adams and Michael Antinozzi by one for the third-most in program history.
  • Nolan Sharkey is tied for 21st in the country in caused turnovers per game at 1.70. The sophomore added another two against the Great Danes, bringing his total for the season to a team high 17.
  • Connor Winters stopped 10 shots in goal while collecting two ground balls and causing one turnover. The reigning America East Goalkeeper of the Week is up to 473 saves for his career, trailing Binghamton Head Men's Lacrosse Coach Kevin McKeown by 36 for the program record of 509.
  • The last time Binghamton played UMBC, the Bearcats tied their program record for goals in a game with 21 in a 21-10 victory at home on April 13, 2024. Ferris and Andrew Girolamo each scored four goals for the Bearcats, and Adams added three. Binghamton's output on offense tied a record that was first set on April 1, 2023, when the Bearcats defeated UMass Lowell 21-10.
About UMBC
  • The Retrievers took down UMass Lowell 14-4 in their last game on April 4. Both Ryan Demato and Connor Chick each scored three goals for UMBC in the win.
  • Jordan Galloway, who recorded two goals against UMass Lowell, leads UMBC with 16 tallies while ranking second in the America East in points per game at 3.38. The midfielder has scored at least 13 goals in each of his four seasons with the Retrievers and received America East Second Team All-Conference honors in 2024.
  • Connor McMahon is second in the America East in Goals Against Average with a mark of 9.75. Against UMass Lowell, the goalie stopped 12 shots to pick up the win.
