VESTAL, N.Y. (binghamtonbearcats.com) - Binghamton Women's Lacrosse (5-9, 2-3) hosts UAlbany (6-9, 3-2), in its final regular-season contest, Saturday, April 26. First draw is slated for 3 p.m. at the Bearcats Sports Complex and on ESPN+.

TWICE THE BEARCAT ACTION
Binghamton Men's Lacrosse takes the field for the first tilt of the afternoon against Vermont at 12 p.m. The women's senior day ceremony and showdown against UAlbany will begin following the conclusion of the men's contest.

WHAT'S AT STAKE
The winner of Saturday's game clinches the final berth in the 2025 America East Women's Lacrosse Championship, May 2-4. The team who comes up short will be eliminated from playoff contention.

Binghamton earns the fourth seed with a win over UAlbany Saturday, marking only the second Bearcat win in program history over the Great Danes. UAlbany could earn any of the final three positions with a victory, depending on the results of the other two conference contests on Saturday, UMBC vs. Vermont, and Bryant vs. UMass Lowell.

UMass Lowell, Bryant and UMBC have all solidified spots in the championship tournament.

SENIOR DAY
Binghamton celebrates the seven members of the 2025 graduating class prior to Saturday's matchup. Olivia Muscolino, Abigail Carroll, Marisa Tancredi, Sofia Salgado, Christiana Mastrorocco, Gaby Castillo and Angelina Suau will be honored in a pregame on-field ceremony after the conclusion of the men's game.

SERIES vs. UALBANY
The Great Danes own a 25-1 series lead over the Bearcats. Binghamton earned its first-ever America East Championship title in its last meeting with UAlbany, May 5, 2024, at John Fallon Field. The championship victory marked the first win in program history over the Great Danes, 12-11, in the teams 22 history.

LAST TIME OUT
Binghamton picked up a much-needed 18-17 win over New Hampshire, Saturday, April 19, at UNH's Wildcat Stadium. The Bearcats jumped out to a 1-0 lead less than a minute into the game on a free position goal by Jess Robinson. Binghamton scored two more goals for the remainder of the quarter, courtesy of Carla Curth and Emma Blloshmi, as UNH responded with six tallies of their own to take a 6-3 lead into the second.

Both teams picked up three goals apiece in the second quarter with New Hampshire scoring the first two to go up 8-3 two minutes into the frame. Binghamton began chipping away at UNH next as Olivia Muscolino registered a goal to cut the home team's lead in half. Following a Wildcat score, Binghamton finished the first half strong on goals from Abigail Carroll and Blloshmi with eight seconds left to go into halftime down 9-6.

The Bearcats broke through in the second half with eight goals in the third quarter, three coming from Marisa Tancredi to give her the first hat trick of her senior season. Blloshmi added another two-piece in the frame to help the Bearcats take a 14-13 advantage into the final 15.

The Wildcats tied it up in the first minutes of the fourth quarter before Blloshmi countered with her fifth goal of the day to help Binghamton retake the lead. UNH leveled the contest once again until Binghamton responded with two back-to-back goals from Christiana Mastrorocco and Robinson to go up 17-15.

New Hampshire converted on a woman-up opportunity next until Blloshmi provided insurance for the Bearcats with goal number six to lead 18-16 with less than four minutes remaining. The Wildcats recorded one more goal to make the game, 18-17, before Blloshmi won the ensuing draw control and ran out the clock to secure the win.

UNSTOPPABLE FROM 8

Blloshmi sits first in the NCAA Division I rankings with 2.08 free position goals per game. Her  29 goals from the eight-meter line own the top spot in Binghamton's single-season program history behind Abigail Carroll's 19 in 2023.

Blloshmi recorded a goal in every contest for Binghamton this spring, including netting at least two goals in 13 of Binghamton's 14 games. Blloshmi picked up her first career America East Offensive Player of the Week honor, Feb. 17. The nod was a career-first for the attacker who was selected as Rookie of the Week twice in 2024.

MUSCOLINO MAKING HISTORY
Olivia Muscolino recorded her eighth straight game with at least two goals after she found the back of the net twice at New Hampshire, April 19. The attacker registered four or more points in eight contests this spring with six hat tricks.

Muscolino eclipsed 200 career points with a second quarter goal against Vermont, April 5, making her the only Bearcat in Binghamton history to reach the milestone. The senior continues to add to her program-best 207 points and 147 goals.

Muscolino rose to first-place in Bearcat history for career goals after she scored twice against St. Bonaventure, Feb. 25, passing Rebecca Golderman's (2016-19) previous mark of 124. Muscolino became the Bearcats' all-time points leader just 13 days earlier with two goals and two assists against Colgate, Feb. 12, breaking Ali Castiglie's (2008-11) previous total of 160.

The attacker set a Bearcat single-season record last spring with 72 points and 120 shots.

ALL HAIL ANGE
Angelina Suau earned her second America East Defensive Player of the Week nod this season, Monday, March 31. Suau rose to first place in Binghamton program history with 84 career turnovers after she notched five against UMBC, Saturday, March 29. The senior defender surpassed Jacqueline Kennedy's (2016-18) previous mark of 77.

Suau ranks second in the America East with 2.79 ground balls per game and third with 1.79 caused turnovers per contest.

Suau matched Binghamton's single-game record with nine ground balls vs. the Retrievers, a career-best mark for the senior defender, and the third-most by any Division I player in a single game this season. Lauren Wetherell (2003-06) and Lauren Gabbamonte (2002-05) collected nine ground balls in games against UAlbany, April 29, 2005, and Niagara, April 5, 2005, respectively. Suau ranks ninth in Bearcats history with 113 career ground balls.

The honor is the fourth career nod for the senior after she was named Defensive Player of the Week, March 3, and twice in 2023.

SAVE WITH SALGADO
Sofia Salgado earned her first America East Goalie of the Week honor of the season, the league announced Monday, April 7.

Salgado recorded eight saves in Binghamton's 12-8 win over Vermont, Saturday, April 5. The graduate goalie blanked the Catamount offense in the fourth quarter, aiding a 4-0 Binghamton run that secured the Bearcats' first America East victory of the season.

The nod is the second of Salgado's Binghamton career after she was named America East Defensive Player of the Week, April 29, 2024. The distinction is also the fourth for the Bearcats this spring since Emma Blloshmi notched an offensive honor, Feb. 17, and Angelina Suau took home two defensive awards, March 31, and March 3.
