Softball Posts Five CSC Academic All-District Selections

Santos, Walter, Roberts, Kennedy and Lawson honored for academic and athletic excellence

VESTAL, N.Y. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) has released its 2025 Softball Academic All-District Teams and five Bearcat players are included. Graduate student outfielders Brianna Santos and Lindsey Walter were chosen for the third straight season while junior pitchers Brianna Roberts and Olivia Kennedy were honored for the second consecutive year. Junior first baseman Emma Lawson, meanwhile, was recognized for the first time in her career.

In addition, Roberts, Lawson, Santos and Kennedy have advanced to the Academic All-America ballot. The voting will take place later in the summer.

Formerly known as the College Sports Information Directors of America (COSIDA), the CSC divides the NCAA institutions into nine geographic districts, with Binghamton being located in District 1. In order to earn Academic All-District honors, a student-athlete must have played in at least 80 percent of their team's games during the current season (or have started in 67 percent of those games), have been at their current institution for at least a calendar year, have attained sophomore status athletically and have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA.

All five players were standouts this season for Binghamton, which finished 36-14 (16-2 AE), swept both the America East regular season and tournament championships and earned a three seed to the NCAA Tournament's Oregon Regional.

Each of the five Bearcat selections were named first-team all-conference. Roberts was also chosen as the America East Pitcher of the Year as well as the Most Outstanding Player at the conference tournament. Roberts and Lawson were later named first-team All-Northeast Region by the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).

In the past three seasons, Binghamton has posted 15 CSC Academic All-District softball selections.
