Bump Named ECAC Softball Coach of the Year

Roberts, Lawson and Santos named ECAC All-Stars

VESTAL, N.Y. – Jess Bump has been named the 2025 ECAC Division I Softball Coach of the Year. In addition, junior pitcher Brianna Roberts, junior first baseman Emma Lawson and graduate student outfielder Brianna Santos were each named ECAC All-Stars for the recently-completed season.

Bump, who is 122-75 in four seasons at the helm of her alma mater, guided the Bearcats to their first-ever sweep of both the America East regular season and tournament championships. Binghamton returned to the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2015 as the three seed in the Oregon Regional. With a 36-14 record, Bump and the Bearcats finished the 2025 campaign with the second-highest win total in program history.

This marks the first time that Binghamton has landed the ECAC Softball Coach of the Year.

Roberts makes her second straight appearance on the ECAC All-Star Team. She adds to her slew of honors this season, which includes being named first team NFCA All-Northeast Region, the America East Pitcher of the Year and the America East Tournament Most Outstanding Player. Roberts went 21-4 this year with a 2.44 ERA. She broke the Binghamton program record for wins in a season and led the America East in both victories and strikeouts (165).

Lawson is an ECAC All-Star for the first time in her career. She too was named first-team NFCA All-Northeast Region. In addition, Lawson joined Roberts as a first-team America East all-conference selection and was chosen to the America East All-Tournament Team. Lawson won the America East batting title with a .379 average, tied for first with 16 doubles and was second with 51 RBI.

Santos also makes her first appearance on the ECAC All-Star Team. She was named first-team all-conference and was also a member of the America East All-Tournament Team. Santos ranked fourth in the America East with a .352 batting average and was first with 61 hits. In the NCAA rankings, Santos was the seventh-toughest batter to strike out.

Since 2010, Binghamton has posted 18 ECAC All-Stars. The three selections this year represent the Bearcats' highest single-season total.
