VESTAL, N.Y. - Binghamton Athletics earned high honors from the NCAA in its annual Academic Progress Rate report for 2023-24, the association announced on Thursday.
A school-record 14 Bearcat teams produced a perfect score of 1,000 in the APR metric, which holds institutions accountable for the academic progress of their student-athletes by charting eligibility and retention for each academic term. In addition, five teams received APR Public Recognition Awards for being in the top 10 percent of all teams across the country.
"This is a true testament of the hard work, dedication and commitment by our student athletes to be the best that they can be in the classroom," Director of Athletics
Eugene Marshall, Jr. said. "I am so very proud of each and every one of our student athletes!"
The five teams that earned multiyear APR recognition were men's cross country, golf, men's swimming & diving, women's soccer and women's tennis.
The 14 teams that achieved a perfect score for 2023-24 were women's basketball, men's and women's cross country, golf, men's lacrosse, men's and women's soccer, softball, men's and women's swimming & diving, men's and women's tennis, women's track & field and volleyball.
Every Binghamton team had a multiyear APR score above 960.
