VESTAL, N.Y. – The final D1Softball.com Mid-Major Poll for the 2025 season has been released and Binghamton is ranked No. 17 overall. It marks the highest ranking for the Bearcats, who have been ranked five times in the poll since March 4.
Now in its second year, the D1Softball.com Mid-Major Poll is open to NCAA Division I programs outside the Power 4 athletic conferences (ACC, Big Ten, Big 12 and SEC). Binghamton is the first team from the America East Conference ever to appear in the
D1Softball.com Mid-Major Poll.
Binghamton finished the 2025 campaign with a 36-14 record and swept both the America East regular-season and tournament championships for the first time in program history. Prior to making its first appearance in the NCAA Tournament since 2015, the Bearcats won 19 of their previous 20 games.
In the most recent D1Softball.com Mid-Major Poll, which came out at the conclusion of the regular season, Binghamton was ranked a then season-best No. 23. Since that point, the Bearcats captured the America East tournament and earned the three seed at the Oregon NCAA Regional.
After cracking the D1Softball.com Mid-Major Poll at No. 25 back on March 4, the Bearcats reappeared at No. 24 on April 23. Binghamton held that position the following week (April 30) before climbing one spot to No. 23 on May 7.Â
The D1 softball ranking adds to a historic season for Binghamton. In addition to its championships, the Bearcats became the first America East softball program ever to sweep all four major awards outright, with Elisa Allen (Player), Brianna Roberts (Pitcher), Rachel Carey (Rookie) and Jess Bump (Coach) collecting the hardware. Binghamton also landed a program-best four NFCA All-Region selections as well as three ECAC All-Star honorees.Â
The 36 victories for Binghamton this season marks the second-highest win total in program history and its most since winning a record 37 times in 1995.Â
