Recent graduate honored for athletic and academic accomplishments

VESTAL, N.Y. – Recent graduate distance runner Jennifer Mui has been named to the College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District Cross Country/Track & Field Team. In addition, Mui was selected to advance to the Academic All-America ballot, which will be voted on next month.

Formerly known as the College Sports Information Directors of America (COSIDA), the CSC divides the NCAA institutions into nine geographic districts, with Binghamton being located in District 1.

In order to earn Academic All-District honors, a student-athlete must have placed among the Top 25 at their regional cross country meet or have appeared in the Top 48 regional rankings for an individual track & field event. In addition, they must have been at their current institution for at least a calendar year, have attained sophomore status athletically and have at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA.

Mui won her second straight America East 3,000 Steeplechase (SC) title at the conference outdoor meet last month. She then advanced to the NCAA East Region Meet where she was 40th overall in the same event.

This marks the second academic honor that Mui has earned this week. On Tuesday, she was chosen to the America East Outdoor Track & Field All-Academic Team.
