VESTAL, N.Y. - Tenth-year Binghamton women's soccer coach
Neel Bhattacharjee announced his team's 2025 fall schedule on Thursday. The Bearcats will open their 16-game slate at Lehigh on Aug.17 and play eight non-conference games before embarking on their traditional eight-game America East slate.
"Our team is excited to come back in a month to begin preseason," Bhattacharjee said. "We are coming off a productive spring and will be pumped to be back together to prepare for competitive matches. We're looking forward to being back together and starting our journey for what should be an exciting fall."
The Bearcats will face opponents from the ACC, CAA, Atlantic 10, Ivy League, Patriot League and MAAC before opening conference play. Binghamton will play three of its first four games on the road, beginning with the match at Lehigh. The team's home opener against St. Bonaventure follows on Aug. 21 before the Bearcats face reigning CAA runnerup Monmouth and MAAC member Marist in a five-day span. Monmouth won 12 games and reached the CAA finals last fall.
"Our non-conference schedule will test us with strong opponents," Bhattacharjee added. "Playing that high-level opposition will give us the competition needed to prepare for our rigorous America East slate, where our ambition will as always be to compete for regular season and postseason titles."
After a home match against A-10 member George Washington on Aug. 31, Binghamton opens the month of September with an away tilt at ACC member Syracuse on Sept. 4. Matches against familiar regional foes Colgate and Cornell close out the non-conference slate.
The eight-game America East schedule kicks off Sept. 21 when UMBC comes to Vestal. An Oct. 5 home date with reigning conference champion Maine highlights the home slate, which also includes the annual encounter with longtime SUNY rival UAlbany on Oct. 16. The Bearcats close out the regular season by hosting Vermont on Oct. 26 for Senior Day.
The top six teams advance to the tournament, which begins with first round games on Nov. 2. The top two teams in the standings host semifinal games on Nov. 6 with the winners advancing to the Nov. 9 championship game. The America East champion receives an automatic bid to the NCAA tournament. Binghamton has played postseason six consecutive years and has advanced to the semifinals in three straight seasons. The Bearcats have captured two of the last three America East regular season crowns.
