VESTAL, N.Y. – The Binghamton golf team announced its schedule for the fall of 2025 Monday.
The Bearcats will compete in five events throughout September and October. Among them will be their home event, the Matthews Auto Collegiate Golf Invitational, at The Links at Hiawatha Landing in Apalachin, N.Y.
"Our team is looking forward to our fall tournaments," said Binghamton Head Golf Coach
Bernie Herceg. "We have a few new venues to compete at, and all of the golf courses will provide a great test with some great competition."
For the fourth year in a row, Binghamton begins its season at Colgate's Alex Lagowitz Memorial. This year's event goes from Sept. 6-7 at Seven Oaks Golf Club in Hamilton, N.Y.
Binghamton's second event features the first of the new venues the team is playing in. That is Delaware's Blue Hen Intercollegiate, which takes place from Sept. 15-16 at White Clay Creek Country Club in Wilmington, Del.
To close out the month of September, the Bearcats travel to Maryland to compete in Navy's invitational, known as The Goat, for the second year in a row. This season's competition goes from Sept. 20-21 at the Naval Academy Golf Club.
With the calendar turning to October, Binghamton returns home to host the latest edition of the Matthews Auto Collegiate Golf Invitational from Oct 5-6. The Bearcats have recently found success at its home tournament, finishing second as a team in the 36-hole competition each of the last two years. Both of their final scores from those events rank in the top five for the lowest team scores for 36 holes in program history. Binghamton's tally of 290-283 = 573/3-under par in 2023 ranks third all-time, while its score of 285-291 = 576/even-par is tied for fifth.
The Bearcats wrap up their fall season with another new venue, Holy Cross's Crusader Invitational, at Worcester Country Club in Worcester, Mass. That tournament goes from Oct. 20-21.
Binghamton has five golfers from the 2024-25 season returning in
Harrison Blech,
Lucas Brittain,
Brandon Conner,
Sean Shen and
Jackson Vesper. The Bearcats will also have some new golfers on the course this fall as the team features three newcomers. Beckham Chiew, Alex Patel and Jack Tebeau each look to make an immediate impact for the Bearcats.
"As we bring in three new players for the fall, it will be exciting for us to get them experience as we head into our championship season in the spring," Herceg added.
