VESTAL, N.Y. – For the second year in a row, Brandon Conner has been named a Cobalt Golf All-America Scholar, the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) announced Tuesday.
 
To be eligible for a nomination, a golfer must be a sophomore, junior, or senior both academically and athletically in NCAA Division I, II, III, or NAIA, or be receiving their associate's degree in their last year of athletic eligibility in the NJCAA. The golfer must also compete in 50 percent of their team's competitive rounds, have a stroke average under 76.0 in NCAA Division I and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. The individual must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at the college or university.
 
This is the second year in a row that Conner has received this honor and the 10th instance in program history that Binghamton has had a golfer named an All-America Scholar. Conner becomes the first Bearcat to earn this recognition in consecutive years since Jake Katz was named an All-America Scholar in 2010 and 2011.

Conner had his strongest season so far for the Bearcats in 2024-25. The Cincinnati, Ohio native led Binghamton with a career-low average score of 73.9. In October, he won the Lehigh Invitational, becoming the first Bearcat to win a tournament since 2019. His score of 67-74 = 141/3-under par made him the only golfer in the 45-man field to finish the event under par. Additionally, his final score of 3-under par is tied for the sixth-lowest score through 36 holes relative to par in program history, and his first round tally of 67/5-under par is tied for the second-lowest round in Binghamton history. For his performance, Conner was named Golfer of the Month by the Northeast Conference, becoming the first Bearcat to get that award from the league. He was also chosen as one of the conference's prime performers for the month.
 
Conner carried that momentum into the spring season by picking up top 10 finishes at the Testudo Cup (tied for 8th) and the Roar-EE Invitational (tied for 10th). His performance at the Testudo Cup led to him being named a prime performer by the conference for the second time during the season on April 9. Conner then closed out the year by finishing tied for 15th at the NEC Men's Golf Championship in April.
 
Conner ultimately received Second Team All-Conference honors from the NEC in May. It was the second time in as many years that the Bearcats had a golfer earn all-conference recognition from the league, which Binghamton joined before the start of the 2023-24 season. Evan Sitts was previously named to the Second Team in 2024.
 
Conner has also found success in the classroom. After posting a GPA of 3.90 in the spring semester of 2025, Conner's cumulative grade-point average is 3.66 heading into his senior season. Conner also earned his bachelor's degree in accounting in May of 2025, as he begins studying for his Master of Business Administration this fall.
 
Binghamton opens the fall portion of its 2025-26 season at the Alex Lagowitz Memorial. The tournament, which is hosted by Colgate, takes place from Sept. 6-7 at Seven Oaks Golf Club in Hamilton, N.Y.
